Solid-state battery Press Cell Workshop took place on the 06.05. and 07.05.2025 in Giessen

Within the scope of the Franco-German cooperation on high power batteries (HIPOBAT), researchers from Collège de France in Paris, Université de Toulouse / CIRIMAT, Université de Picardie Jules Verne /LRCS - Laboratoire de Réactivité et Chimie des Solides, Amiens, and ISEA/ RWTH Aachen visited the group of Prof. Janek in Giessen to discuss the construction of so-called press cells to characterize new materials for solid-state batteries under constant pressure.

The two-day workshop included hands-on lab sessions constructing and testing electrochemical cells. Big thank you to Prof. Janek, Kilian Vettori and the team in Giessen for hosting this workshop! This will help to align the measurement techniques and protocols used by the HIPOBAT researchers which in turn will facilitate the collaboration between scientists of different institutes within the HIPOBAT project.

Further actions and the results of this hands-on workshop will be discussed with the entire HIPOBAT consortium during the next project meeting in Berlin in June.
