HIPOBAT: Advancing European Battery Research Through Franco-German Collaboration
We are honored that the HIPOBAT (high-power batteries) project has been highlighted in the concluding statement of the 26th Franco-German Ministerial Council on the 17.07.2026 as a flagship example of successful cooperation in the field of advanced battery technologies. The joint commitment by France and Germany to further strengthen this collaboration and extend it to additional research activities underscores the strategic importance of coordinated research programmes in building Europe's battery ecosystem.
HIPOBAT demonstrates how cross-border research can accelerate innovation by combining complementary scientific expertise, advanced characterization capabilities, digital tools, and industrial perspectives to address key challenges in next-generation battery technologies.
As Europe continues to invest in resilient and sustainable battery value chains, collaborative research projects such as HIPOBAT play a critical role in:
